In a World…

I just thought I would post a quick update with a new animation that I did for fun. It’s nothing special and it only took me about twenty min to make, but I haven’t done any Motion Graphics for a little while so I thought I would see what I could throw together as quickly as possible. I grabbed some open source footage from video copilot for the background, which I and then changed, added to, and modified in order to get it to look like smoke from fire. It took it six times longer to render than it did to design it.

David Tennant and Catherine Tate, known for their roles in TV show Doctor Who, starred in a stage versions “Much Ado About Nothing” which a few of us got way too excited about. We then decided to throw a pajama party for it.

Not too shabby for what is essentially a bad joke.

Twice As Powerful, TWICE AS DEADLY

My new design is pretty much finished. There is still some stuff I want to, but it is mostly cosmetic. I would say I am about about 92.48% complete, give or take. I must say, WordPress is like some sort of amazing secret magic sauce. I have no idea how or why I haven’t used it until now.

It would be remiss of me not to mention this fantastic plugin by the brilliant Dean Williams, called Advanced AJAX Page Loader. He even made me a co-author of it for some reason. I recommend that everyone install it, and/or and give him lots of monies.

Two Steps Forward

I have updated my portfolio with a few “new” items to fill it with. I use quotes with the word “new” because most of it is work that I did a while ago but never managed to post. It may be happening slowly, but I am making allot of progress getting all of my content in it’s correct place. There has been quite a bit more auditing than I expected with this whole process.

Getting Assembled

Things are finally coming together with my latest re-design. I have about half of my old content transitioned from Blogger to WordPress. There are tools available to batch import content, however there are some changes that I still want to make in order for my website to use responsive web design techniques.

I also created a new portal for everything related to Towel Day. This was causing 404 errors for some people, however I think I have fixed the problem. There still is allot of stuff that I need to do before this year’s festivities.

Meanwhile…

In case there is anyone out there actually paying attention, you probably noticed that my website has been under some pretty extreme construction for the past few weeks. I have temporarily removed any of my graphics pages until I get the basic layout to a place I am satisfied with. They will return soon.

Like I did with my last re-design, I am experimenting a bit with this one; taking what I have learned over the past year and pushing myself a few steps further. I am trying to make the design more reflective of my new title while still keeping what I liked about the old website. I am also continuing my trend of trying to make my site as progressive as possible, but often times this can be a bad thing. This new site will definitely break in older internet browsers, however it is my website and I will code it however I like thankyouverymuch.
